Recognized international experts from Israel, the USA, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Ukraine, in the course of an educational program, share their knowledge and experience in solving the problem of the impact that psychotrauma has on mental health during war.

Professor, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, and also Deputy Director/Senior Researcher of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress at the US Armed Forces University. In the past - President of the Society of Military Psychiatrists - the military district division of the American Psychiatric Association, as well as a representative at the APA Assembly. He is an honorary member of the American Psychiatric Association. Prof. Benedek retired from the US Army in 2021 after almost 34 years of military service. In addition to working in Bosnia and Croatia, Prof. Benedek worked in Cuba, Iraq and Kuwait in connection with military operations in these countries. In 2004-2008, Dr. Benedek was a consultant to the Chief Military Surgeon of the US Army on forensic psychiatry.
