"Darnitsa" helps Ukrainians to overcome post-covid syndrome

05 January 2022

The pharmaceutical company "Darnitsa" gathers and analyzes international experience and research regarding post-covid syndrome and distributes this information in a format convenient for a wide audience to help Ukrainians overcome the aftereffects of COVID-19. According to the results of the Gradus Research* study, about 80% of those who got over COVID-19 have side effects from the disease even a few months after recovery.

As defined by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence of the United Kingdom, post-covid syndrome is a state of health when a well-being person feels symptoms of an illness or complications from different organ systems and three months after the onset of the disease. About 12% of people with post-covid syndrome seek information about it online, and some do not even understand what is happening to their body.

In order to help this, Darnitsa works in three directions: conducts sociological research, identifying the most frequent symptoms of the syndrome, regularly supplements and updates its specialized website postcovid.darnitsa.ua**, and also implements media special projects about the combat of the syndrome, which combine the stories of ordinary people, celebrities and professional advice from experts.

In particular, a recent study conducted by Gradus Research, made to order by Darnitsa, showed that the most common symptoms experienced by COVID-19 patients after recovery were weakness (59%), fast fatigability (55%) and fatigue without exertion (46%). Most often, the syndrome affects the nervous system, the psycho-emotional state and the respiratory system.

This is confirmed by the participants of the media special projects «Darnitsa» with the involvement of well-known bloggers, representatives of show business and well-known entrepreneurs on the websites of Nash Kyiv and MC Today. The materials combine real stories of Ukrainian celebrities about their experience of COVID-19 and post-covid syndrome and advice from a pulmonologist, neurologist, psychiatrist regarding how to recover from the effects of the disease.

The company's largest project is its own information website postcovid.darnitsa.ua**, where the expert information submitted is short and simple. All data is verified and taken from professional sources. Every word is based on the practical experience of doctors from all over the world. The information is regularly updated, because Darnitsa keeps making translations of international studies for the site.

"Unfortunately, despite the urgency of the issue, there is still little objective information on this important issue, so we have undertaken a mission to open access to up-to-date information on the post-COVID-19 syndrome from leading international sources to a wide audience", — It was noted by Ihor Nykyforchyn, Director of medical affairs of the pharmaceutical company "Darnitsa".
