Darnytsia Shared the Practice of Using Criminal Law Instruments to Protect Intellectual Property Rights

Oleksandr Saienko, Head of the Legal Department of Darnytsia Pharmaceutical Company, spoke at the 10th International Intellectual Property Forum (IPF-2024), organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka (Legal Practice) newspaper.

Oleksandr focused attention on the issue of criminal law instruments for the protection of intellectual property rights.

In general, the event discussed trends in the resolution of IP disputes in Ukraine. In particular, the practice of the Supreme Court was considered in detail. The forum participants also talked about the appointment and evaluation of forensic examinations in the field of intellectual property, analyzed current IP cases of European justice, as well as online infringements of trademark rights. Thus, effective protection strategies were determined during the discussion.

Important aspects of the discussion were the expert provision of IP justice, algorithms for proving the use of a trademark (AIRRI Resolution), as well as the issue of lost profits in IP disputes.
