“Darnitsa” and Riga University announced the start of cooperation

March 28, 2023. Representatives of Riga Stradins University and the pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the purpose of developing cultural, educational and research cooperation. On behalf of the University, the rector of the institution, Professor Aigars Petersons, personally acted as a signatory.

The main direction of joint work is defined as the development of medicine and pharmaceutical science. In particular, the Memorandum provides for the expansion of scientific research potential in the field of biotechnology, assistance in obtaining access to new technologies for the production of medicinal products and their implementation, exchange of experience, scientific data and other useful information.

“Darnitsa” and Riga Stradins University also agreed to hold joint events, such as forums, seminars and conferences. In the future, there are plans to joint efforts to develop scientific strategies, conduct exchanges of specialists for the formation of expert groups and commissions, and mutual participation in the organization of various scientific and educational events.

At the same time, the Memorandum does not limit the cooperation of the University and “Darnitsa” to the mentioned types of activities only; joint development is possible in any field where the parties have common interests.

We consistently work on integration into the community of innovators in the pharmaceutical industry, so that Ukrainian patients receive only high-quality and effective drugs, and Ukrainian manufacturers - access to European markets and the experience of foreign colleagues,” said Inna Deniak, director of development of the Darnitsa pharmaceutical company.

The university is integrated into the health care system of Latvia, is a member of the European exchange program ERASMUS and cooperates with more than 80 universities all over the world.
