Darnytsia and the Zagoriy Foundation Joined the Evening of Charity and Supported Ukrainian Catholic University
Pharmaceutical Company ‘Darnytsia’ and Zagoriy Foundation took part in the Evening of Charity in support of Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), and helped the educational institution with more than UAH 4 million.
These funds will be used to establish nominal scholarships, support the UCU Volunteer Centre to assist the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and increase the UCU Heroes Memorial Fund. In particular, the benefactors who took part in the evening established 61 student and 10 professor scholarships.
The event was held in Kyiv City for the sixteenth time. This year, it brought together about 170 partners and philanthropists of the University, who jointly raised funds for talented students and teachers.
Traditionally, the Evening of Charity began with an intellectual discussion on ‘How Can Ukraine Grow Wings?’.
After that, silent and loud auctions were held.
The silent auction featured 40 works of art by talented artists known both in Ukraine and abroad.
The loud auction held by Kateryna Zagoriy, UCU Senator, Co-founder of Zagoriy Foundation, offered 7 lots—works of contemporary art, autographs of famous Ukrainians, trips across Ukraine, and other valuables.
Also, an auction of donations was held this year for the first time, and more than UAH 600,000 were collected. Each of those present was able to join and support the university.
‘Charity is an integral part of the culture of modern society. Darnytsia develops a culture of charity in practice. We have been helping Ukrainian Catholic University for eight years in a row, because it is young people that build our future. Together with Zagoriy Foundation, we joined Giving Tuesday global generosity movement, which inspires millions of people to do good things’, Vasyl Hubarets, Corporate Communications Director at Darnytsia, said.
The mission of the Zagoriy Foundation is to develop a culture of charity in Ukraine. Education was, is, and will always be one of our directions. We support UCU because we believe that it is they who make a huge contribution to the future generation of leaders who will be able to change the country. We share common values. We see their results. And we are glad to be part of it’, Iryna Hrytsaienko, Director at Zagoriy Foundation, stated.
