Darnytsia and Carlsberg Ukraine Exchanged Lean and WCM Practices
Darnytsia Pharmaceutical Сompany held a meeting with representatives of Carlsberg Ukraine, during which it shared its experience in optimizing operational processes using the Lean approach and the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) system.
Darnytsia has been developing a Lean culture for more than eight years, which promotes increased efficiency, flexibility, and the adoption of modern technologies. Since 2016, the company has continuously improved its processes, implemented digital tools, automated reporting, and fostered a philosophy of continuous improvement. In 2023, a strategic step was taken — the introduction of WCM began.
Currently, the company operates with eight WCM pillars, including "Focused Improvements," "Planned Maintenance," "Quality Control," and "Safety & Environment." Additionally, a new direction—"Office"—is being developed. The main tools used by Darnytsia teams include PDCA, 5Why analysis, KAIZEN, Makigami, DMS, OPL, Poka-Yoke, and others.
During the meeting with Carlsberg Ukraine, topics such as building a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and scaling successful practices were discussed. Representatives of Carlsberg Ukraine highly appreciated Darnytsia’s achievements and noted the systematic approach to transforming production culture.
“One of WCM’s principles is continuous improvement. The key is to engage people at all levels and not to overlook small changes, because together they create meaningful transformation,” emphasized Darnytsia’s Chief Operating Officer, Yevhenii Cherkas.
Darnytsia will continue to foster Lean culture, develop WCM and innovations, and strengthen its leadership position in the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry.
