Darnytsia Joins the EU Critical Medicines Alliance: A New Level of International Integration and Strategic Progress for Ukrainian Pharma
Darnytsia Pharmaceutical Company has taken an important step in its international development by becoming a member of the EU Critical Medicines Alliance, signing the Alliance Declaration, and confirming its support for the Alliance’s vision and its commitment to actively participate in its activities.
This platform is designed to prevent medicine shortages in the EU by coordinating the efforts of manufacturers and European institutions.
Darnytsia’s membership in the Alliance opens new opportunities for the company to take part in shaping the EU’s approach to the resilience of the European pharmaceutical market.
In particular, through participation in joint Alliance initiatives, Darnytsia is strengthening the diversification of international supply chains, contributing to the development of a joint crisis strategy to prevent medicine shortages, and implementing advanced digital solutions in manufacturing and logistics management.
Darnytsia has confirmed compliance with European quality standards by successfully passing the relevant European inspections and registering with the Transparency Register, thereby demonstrating transparency and integrity.
Through its work in the Alliance, the company strengthens Ukraine’s position on the pharmaceutical map of Europe, demonstrating its readiness to ensure uninterrupted supplies and overall preparedness for medical crises—proving that Ukrainian manufacturers can be drivers of positive change for the entire European critical medicines market.
It is worth noting that the Alliance includes key manufacturers from more than 20 EU countries, and its activities are coordinated by DG HERA—a structure created by the European Commission in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, the companies work on risk assessment, searching for alternative sources of raw materials, and optimizing production capacities.
“Membership in the EU Critical Medicines Alliance is a significant achievement for Darnytsia and Ukraine. We have already confirmed our compliance with European quality standards and, together with our European partners, are developing solutions to ensure the uninterrupted supply of vital medicines to the EU. This strengthens Ukraine’s reputation as a reliable partner in pharmaceuticals,” notes Serhii Bobylev, Compliance, Corporate & Legal Director at Darnytsia.
