Dmytro Shymkiv comments about the rise in prices for the medicinal products
Dmytro Shymkiv, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Darnitsa Group commented the rise of prices for the medicinal products in Ukraine on the air of Terpnopil-1 TV channel.
“During the first two months of the war, we dispatched all our products at the pre-war prices. At present, prices have been raised slightly for some items due to the cost of raw materials and transport. If to speak about the transport costs, they have increased 12 times” — told Dmytro.
First of all, the logistics costs increased due to the higher prices for fuel, as well as increased logistics for the supply of raw materials from abroad. In the first weeks of the war, companies also faced a shortage of truck drivers.
Pharmaceutical company Darnitsa continues working, therefore, medicinal products will be available in the pharmacies, — reassures Dmytro Shymkiv. In addition, Darnitsa produces the important medicinal products that help in the radiation contamination and chemical attacks.
“At the moment, Darnitsa has transferred the products on the amount of almost UAH 110 million to the needs of the state, hospitals and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are the principal manufacturer of Atropine* that is used in case of chemical attacks. We have produced almost 3 million doses of this product. Now we are producing 1 million more doses. We manufactured Potassium Iodide** rather quickly in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and National Security and Defense Council. This medicinal product is used in case of radiation contamination. We have produced 5 million doses and donated them to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” — explained Dmytro Shymkiv.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health calls on the pharmacy chains not to raise the prices for the medicines during military situation.
