Heat and the Heart: How to Prevent Complications of Cardiovascular Diseases – Tips from Darnytsia

Darnytsia Pharmaceutical Company draws attention to the fact that with the onset of summer heat, the risks for people with cardiovascular diseases increase significantly.

Heat creates additional stress on the heart, provokes an increase in blood pressure, heart rhythm disturbances, and can even lead to a heart attack.

“In hot weather, the body intensively loses fluids, which leads to blood thickening and increases the risk of thrombosis, heart attacks, and strokes. People of older age, as well as patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease, and other chronic conditions, should be especially careful during this period.

To reduce risks, it is important to maintain adequate hydration, avoid excessive physical exertion in the heat, monitor blood pressure, and regularly take medications prescribed by a doctor,” notes Darnytsia’s medical advisor, cardiologist Tetiana Danilevych.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reports that cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death in the country — they account for about 65% of all fatal cases.

Darnytsia pays great attention to cardiovascular diseases, having in its portfolio many effective and safe medicines for their treatment. In particular:

•    antihypertensive drugs (to lower blood pressure);
•    diuretics;
•    antiplatelet agents (to prevent thrombosis);
•    medicines for heart failure treatment;
•    medicines for coronary heart disease treatment;
•    statins (to lower cholesterol levels);
•    antiarrhythmic drugs;
•    medicines to support electrolyte balance (magnesium, potassium).

At the same time, the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer is actively strengthening its expertise in the field of cardiology.

Recently, Darnytsia Pharmaceutical Company, together with the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, held a unique conference “Modern Cardiology-2025” for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and general practitioners.

The event brought together more than 500 medical professionals from all regions of Ukraine and became a powerful professional platform for discussing the most relevant topics in cardiology.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, present the latest clinical approaches, and jointly seek effective solutions for the treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
