Bohomolets National Medical University and “Darnytsia” signed a memorandum of cooperation

Bohomolets National Medical University (NMU) and one of the leaders of the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry, the company “Darnytsia”, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, outlining the areas of future fields for teamwork: scientific research and education.

The main directions of cooperation will be the exchange of scientific knowledge, practical experience and access to the sources of scientific information, as well as the formation of expert associations and joint publication of scientific articles, reports, and other materials.

Both “Darnytsia” and Bohomolets NMU have extensive experience in pharmaceutical and pharmacological research, including basic research on the mechanisms of drug action, and are interested in the development of both theoretical and practical aspects of pharmacovigilance. An expected practical outcome of cooperation is also the development of new medicines, conducting preclinical and clinical research for them.

The implementation of the Memorandum will help intensify the training of highly qualified young specialists and increase their practical adaptation to modern conditions on the labor market in the industry thanks to the opportunity for students of the National Medical University to undergo practice at the production facilities and laboratories of “Darnytsia”.

In order to maintain a high level of quality and enter new export markets, including the EU, the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry must constantly improve. Therefore, the signing of the Memorandum on cooperation with NMU, which is one of the leading Ukrainian medical universities, is an important step towards the consolidation of efforts to transform Ukraine into a powerful pharmaceutical hub of Central and Eastern Europe”, emphasized Andrii Obryzan, General Director of the pharmaceutical company “Darnytsia”.

“Supporting the further development of medical and pharmaceutical education today means there are relevant steps done to provide for competent solution of professional tasks by doctors and pharmacists (including within the scope of pharmaceutical care, medical educational activities, evidence-based medicine), and for reducing the shortage of professional personnel in medicine and pharmacy in the future”, - emphasizes the rector of the Bohomolets National Medical University, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, doctor of medicine, professor Yury Kuchyn.

The first steps in implementing the cooperation have already been made. A large delegation of NMU teachers led by Professor Hanna Zaichenko visited the modern production facilities of “Darnytsia”. And a breakthrough educational project to improve the study of the pharmacology of cardiovascular drugs by future doctors and pharmacists has also been launched.
