Darnitsa is Exploring the Opportunities of Entering the Markets of South Asia
The Ukrainian pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” is exploring the opportunities to enter new promising markets, in particular in South Asia. This region is one of the most competitive and is developing rapidly. Despite the high competition and the presence of such major players as India and China, the Ukrainian company is confident that it has opportunities and products that could compete in the region.
“We are looking at the Asian market, South Asia. These are quite large markets, where we contend with the powerful Indian and Chinese pharmaceutical industry, which is backed by government protectionism. But we have products with which we can compete,” Dmytro Shymkiv, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Darnitsa Group said.
Last year Darnitsa launched 10 new products, and they are also available in foreign markets. In view of the interest of Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies in exporting their products, Darnitsa supports the promotion of the idea of including the issue of mutual recognition of GMP certificates of pharmaceutical plants in the Agreement with the EU which will open new opportunities for domestic manufacturers in European markets.
Shymkiv noted that Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers and their products meet European standards, so intensification of cooperation with the EU will provide a strong incentive for domestic companies, which will significantly accelerate the export of Ukrainian medicines to Europe.
